Lionel Birnie is an author whose books include Four Seasons, about Watford FC (with a bit about Elton).
He told EJW that he has a new book about Watford, focusing on the eighties.
''As Elton was the owner and chairman of the club, he is mentioned many times.
''There are a couple of B&W pictures of him in Enjoy The Game.''
Lionel also says: ''I cover cycling most of the time, and have reported the
Tour de France for Cycling Weekly and the Sunday Times.
''I know Watford very well. I worked for the local paper, I live nearby.
''I've never seen Elton live but do have tickets for the Watford concert in
May.''
