According to the Daily Mirror, several stars plan to follow the Queen's example when it comes to heating their mansions.
Elton, Richard Branson and Microsoft's Paul Allen are reportedly considering using borehole systems too.
This is a way for Her Majesty to slash bills and warm Buckingham Palace--by circulating water through pipes drilled hundreds of feet down in the gardens.
The water, heated by under surface warmth, will supply free "green" power.
It was inspired by the use of deep heat to power Palace air-conditioning.
But boreholes aren't just for the upper class. Patrick Sherriff, of Geothermal Heating Installations, said it can cost ''just 5,000 pounds'' to drill one into water-bearing chalk under London.
''People have put them in tiny gaps between the pavement and front doors.''
