Half of the Face to Face act will be doing a solo concert tour, beginning on January 10, 2006 at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena in Florida.
It coincides with the November 22 release of My Lives, a five-disc Billy Joel retrospective.
This is the pianist's first solo outing since '98-'99, when he grossed over 47 million dollars.
And in 2003, when he went on the road with Elton, just 24 of their concerts earned 46 million bucks--one of the year's highest grossing tours.
But although Billy has returned to live shows, he won't go back to making pop music. He prefers to focus on writing and recording classical projects.
This will be a disappointment for Elton, who has said he hopes his friend gets enough ''confidence'' to do more rock records.
