An Update on The December 21 Proceedings

Thursday 22 December 2005 @ 17:05 - GMT

One of the flashiest traffic jams ever took place last night, outside the gates of Elton and David Furnish's estate.

According to Sky News, the line stretched back half a mile, and included names like Michaels Caine and Parkinson, Boris Becker, Ringo Starr and Helena Bonham Carter.

Tim Burton, Jamie Cullum, James Blunt, Gordon Ramsay, Sting and Sarah Ferguson were among the others at the reception, celebrating the much-publicised civil ceremony. The entertainment included a performance from Joss Stone, and even Elton did a number--Your Song, which he dedicated to David.

Earlier in the day, the two, unlike their guests, experienced no tie-ups. That was when they headed to the Guildhall, where the interior was filled with roses, freesia and lilies, along with gentle harp music. They were able to take a short cut, thanks to permission from the Queen, and glided through Windsor Great Park and out of a private gate, escorted by police.
