For a generation of Torontonians, John Majhor was the voice of rock and roll.

In the eighties, he was 1050 CHUM's prime rock interviewer, doing more than 150 sessions a year. Elton, Roger Daltrey, George Harrison, Meat Loaf, Harry Chapin, Joe Walsh all shared a microphone with him when they passed through Toronto.

He was a pioneer of sorts, hosting Canada's first major daily music video show, CFMT's Video Singles in 1983, which pre-dated MuchMusic and led to the legendary Toronto Rocks program on CityTV.

John, who died of cancer at the age of 53,  also did extensive voiceover work for radio and TV commercials.
