The Mail has stated that Elton's Cumbria concert appears to be headed for a sell-out.
Approximately 18,000 tickets have been sold, with 2,000 more available today.
Work began Tuesday on the Brunton Park grounds. A pair of hospitality marquees have been erected, and yesterday, a 150-strong crew started labouring on 12-hour rolling shifts, laying sheet flooring over the pitch.
Elton has already signed a special club shirt, which will be framed and put up in Carlisle United Club's boardroom. And an identical one is to be presented by the songster to the club owner, Fred Story (no relation to supporting act, The Storys).
Elton will arrive at the airport via private jet. Then a helicopter will take him to a temporary heli-pad on the training field.
