Michael Luckman is director of the New York Center for Extraterrestrial Research and founder of the Cosmic Majority, an organisation seeking to advance the views of the majority of people living on planet Earth who believe in UFOs, life on other planets throughout the Universe, the paranormal, the New Age and the sanctity of the environment.
He taught the nation's first college course on rock music at the New School for Social Research in Manhattan in 1971, and has gone on to produce several major UFO conventions in New York.
Readers of this site may also recall Michael is the author of Alien Rock, which mentions Elton and Elvis Presley, among many others, and the visionary behind the Signal to Space Concerts, a historic event that will beam live rock and pop music to Mars, the Moon and other locations in this Solar System and beyond in the hope of making contact with extraterrestrials.
Luckman tells EJW that the Rocket Man is ''very high on our wish list of performers'' for the Signal to Space events, ''but nothing has been signed.''
He observes there is considerable interest in such a concert in India, and he also hopes to stage shows in Berlin, Tokyo and New York. In fact, ''there is even a possibility of a smaller, more immediate Signal to Space Concert in New York City in early October 2008 and perhaps another smaller one this coming June in Scotland.''
And while Luckman has no plans to write another book, he is pushing for a reality TV series based on Alien Rock.
