The latest White Tie and Tiara Ball raised around 10 million dollars for the EJAF.
A good chunk of that came from the auction. The top lot, in which Elton will provide the music to the bidder's own lyrics, went for £1.3m.
The evening's veteran auctioneer, the record executive Nick Stewart, said it would be his last year.
"With all my other commitments, I've been thinking of hanging up my gavel and this seems the perfect moment."
Another successful event was Elton's weekend concert at Liberty Stadium.
Besides treating folks to hits like Sacrifice and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, the headliner (who came on after opening acts Richard Fleeshman and the Storys) bonded with many by calling the venue ''fantastic'' and congratulating Swansea City on their promotion to the Championships.
