Elton and Lou Reed are expected to be among the first guests when Spectacle: Elvis Costello With . . . makes its debut on the Sundance Channel this fall.
So far the show has taped four one-hour episodes of a planned 13-programme run. The series is being co-produced by CTV in Canada and Channel 4 in Great Britain, as well as the Sundance Channel in the U.S. Precise viewing times are not known yet.
The format for the series will see Costello have conversations and collaborations with his guests. According to the production company, Elton and Elvis will perform together.
"I'm hoping that future shows continue to embody the great joy, passion and celebration of music we've had thus far, mixed with rare poignant and powerful moments," Costello said. "It's early to say too much about 'Spectacle' other than it has been a wonderful and surprising experience."
Additional confirmed guests include Tony Bennett, Allen Toussaint, Pat Metheny and Bill Clinton.
This isn't the first time the film channel is playing host to a bevy of musical acts.
