Like Stephen Colbert, Jerry Garcia, Monty Python, Dave Matthews and Phish, Elton is being honoured with a Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor.
The limited-edition Goodbye Yellow Brickle Road will be rolled out for one week only, to coincide with the headliner's first concert in the pint purveyors' home base of Vermont.
Proceeds will benefit Elton's own AIDS organisation.
"I can't think of a more fun way to celebrate playing my 50th state, Vermont, than having Ben & Jerry's create a special ice cream, Goodbye Yellow Brickle Road, with all my favourite flavours and ingredients," the charity's founder declared.
"I'm especially pleased that they will be donating the proceeds to the Elton John AIDS Foundation."
The custom flavour was concocted with input from Elton himself and consists of "an outrageous symphony of decadent chocolate ice cream, peanut butter cookie dough, butter brickle and white chocolate chunks."
So appropriately enough, it will be doled out in cups, cones and dishes at Elton's sold-out Champlain Valley Expo show on Monday, July 21.
It shall also be available in the company's Vermont scoop shops for just one week only, July 18-25.
In addition, customers will be able to hear play tunes from Elton's latest album, Rocket Man: The Definitive Hits, as well as the DVD of last year's 60th birthday concert at Madison Square Garden.
