| A Day With Gray--
Catching Up With an Australasia Promoter
February 2009 @ 17:29
Last year, this Web site carried an item about Gray Bartlett, who was celebrating two million record sales and 50 years in the recording business with a double LP and a nationwide anniversary tour featuring Kiwi artists. He told Eltonjohnworld.com that because his dates sold out, he plans to tour again in 2009.
Awarded an MBE in 1987 for his services to music and the Multiple Sclerosis Society fundraising efforts, Gray has also been a concert promoter, putting together shows for the likes of Elton, Norah Jones and Michael Jackson.
The Auckland native was taught by one of his brother to play guitar, and went on to tour with Tom Jones and Hermans Hermits.
Gray worked with Elton was when he was with Pacific Entertainment Ltd.
Bartlett has since sold his half-share in the company.
