She has painted the pets of some of the world's most well-known people -- from Sir Elton's pooches to Bill Clinton's chocolate labrador, Buddy.
Now the White House has come calling once again on Cindy Lass.
The self-trained artist from St John's Wood has just completed her latest commission -- a portrait of President Obama's black-and-white Portuguese water dog, Bo.
Cindy says she was surprised to be contacted out of the blue by Obama's staff, but hopes her painting will hang in the Oval Office.
Another recognition came in 2005 when Virgin Atlantic announced the artist would be the major attraction of its new Flying Paws initiative. The reward scheme meant that jet-setting cats, dogs and even ferrets could collect 3 paw prints, redeemable for gifts. One "paw print" would be awarded for each flight, with a minimum of five being redeemable for goodies, such as a Virgin bowl. For those animals crossing time zones regularly, they could draw 20 points, with the option of a personal ''Pawtrait'' from Cindy.
