Sir Elton is holding close a new tiny dancer.
The music-maker and his partner have become parents to a 7-pound, 15-ounce baby boy born on Christmas Day. The news was confirmed by Elton's Los Angeles-based publicist.
Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John was born in California via a surrogate, whose identity is being protected by the new parents.
In a joint statement, Elton and David Furnish told USMagazine.com that "Zachary is healthy and doing well" and they are "overwhelmed with happiness and joy at this very special moment."
Liz Hurley reacted in a Twitter post, saying: "Massive congratulations to David and Elton on having their beautiful son. Can't wait for my first cuddle."
Michael Caine also offered his congratulations. . . .
"Great news about Elton and David adopting a child--let's hope more people are granted adoption."
