Earlier this month, Elton and David Furnish were on ITVs Daybreak, talking about Gnomeo and Juliet. They also discussed becoming new parents.
Elton admitted he previously thought he was too old to father a child and knew he and David would get criticised for their decision, but added: ''You can't please everyone.''
He said: ''We are not stupid people, we knew that we would get a lof of flak from certain areas, and we did, but we can rise about that and just bring our child up in the proper way. And at the end of the day, it's really nobody else's business.''
Elton has found he's a 'natural' dad, although he tends to get gooey around the baby. '' I'm like a gibbering wreck. I make up songs and sing to him in gibberish, I'm very good at gibberish now,'' the 63-year-old commented.
Both men were delighted when they were presented with a Janod Magnetic Rocket for Zachary.
The wooden rocket is made up of 6 brightly coloured pieces which stack up and connect together by magnets. It includes a moving propeller and a removable space man.
