On Sunday evening, July 10, a musician who appeared on Elton's Madman Across The Water and Davey Johnstone's Smiling Face albums, is to be at George Martin's Air Studios in Belsize Park, North London.

Rick Wakeman will be recording a special edition of the BBC's TV programme, Songs of Praise.Welsh singer Aled Jones will be interviewing him about his life and music and he will be performing some of his favourite tunes.

If you'd like a free ticket for the event contact the Songs Of Praise office - but bear in mind they expect attendees to sing the hymns (chosen by Rick).

Incidentally, Rick has been doing some one-man shows lately, playing songs and telling stories (and changing both on a regular basis).

An Evening with Rick Wakeman pretty much came about by accident. Quite simply, his gear didnt arrive for a gig and all there was available was a piano. The audience were given the choice of their money back or an evening with Wakeman performing on the piano and reciting anecdotes. Only three people took up the offer of their money back, and An Evening with Rick Wakeman was born.
