As reported previously, Tin Pan Alley: The Rise of Elton John is being published next year. However, instead of January, the date has been pushed ahead to February 2013.
The biography includes a jacket designed by David Larkham (who has worked on many of Elton's album covers). With first-hand accounts from the people who knew him best, this work details Sir Eltons formative years: from his training as a classical pianist at the Royal Academy of Music to his eventual rise to superstardom in the 70s.
There are interviews with Eltons first piano teacher, Bluesology bandmates, managers Ray Williams and John Reid, collaborators like Kiki Dee, and lots more.
Tin Pan Alley: The Rise of Elton John also feature two picture sections of never-before-seen photos.
Author Keith Hayward is a renowned Elton John collector, expert and historian. His assistant on Tin Pan Alley is Nigel Goodall, who has written more than twenty books and penned dozens of articles on the pop and film world for magazines such as Record Collector and TV Times.
