Elton gives an exclusive interview to the Daily Mirror newspaper of July 17, 1999.
He speaks of his medical ordeal facing a pacemaker a week ago, about his new projects and about saying goodbye to his recent manager, Colin Bell.
In the July 16 edition, Elton accuses ex-manager John Reid of creaming off millions from his pop fortune with excessive management fees. Elton claims Reid even remortgaged his home in Windsor (Woodside), in secret. Allegedly, Reid also quietly sold off the rights to Elton's first six albums, and sold off two of Elton's favourite paintings at Woodside. Reid tells Daily Mail of July 17, 1999, he's considering libel action against Elton.
