Hollywood sexpot Sharon Stone shimmied onstage with Elton at an AIDS charity auction at the Cannes film festival where stars vied for attention with eye-popping diamonds.
Sharon Stone was dressed in a red Versace trouser suit accessorised with a 25-karat diamond DeBeers necklace, she worked the audience to prompt them into upping their offers at the auction.
Elton John helped raise more than $1.6 million at the annual Cinema Against AIDS gala sponsored by Motorola , held late on Thursday May 23, 2002.
Guests at the exclusive event included movie stars Elizabeth Taylor, Milla Jovovich and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, director David Lynch and Miramax executive Harvey Weinstein.
The real stars of the party, however, were the resplendent diamond necklaces lent by jewelers De Beers. Taylor, known for her love of extravagant jewelry, gaped as she spotted an egg-sized diamond around the neck of the Somali-born supermodel Iman. The priceless 203-carat Millennium Star had an entourage of its own. "There was an attempted robbery on it, so when I got here I didn't have just security people, I had armored guards," told Iman.
