Finalists for this year's Emmy Awards for national Public Service Announcements were revealed on August 20, 2002, by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).
The finalists were chosen by nationwide panels of civic leaders and community service professionals. Entries were reviewed from the 2001 calendar year.
"The quality of this year's entries is extremely impressive and shows how the nation's television stations continue to take a serious concern about the betterment of the communities they serve," said NATAS President Peter Price.
The 2001 National Public Service Announcement Finalists include: Elton John AIDS Foundation, VH1/MTV - Africa/Grand.
