Elton whipped up an aural storm over the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on September 10, 2002.
After a much-anticipated return to Biloxi, Elton took the stage a little after 8 p.m. amidst the thunderous applause of the near-capacity crowd.Clad in a red suit and black sunglasses, Elton settled in at a black piano with Funeral for a Friend, before launching into Love Lies Bleeding.
Elton eased into Bennie and the Jets, and after hitting the last note, he sent the audience into a frenzy with two simple words."Hello, Biloxi."
Elton described his set list as "songs you know, some you don't know and some you haven't heard in a long time."
He played such favorites as Daniel and Someone Saved My Life Tonight as well as many from his 2001 release, Songs from the West Coast.
