musicians say no to war in London
March 2003 @ 4:41
While leaders all over the world debated the nessessity of a war against Iraq, musicians turned up in London to just say no to war as the deadline for agreement by the United Nations passed on March 17, 2003.
In a surprise turn, Coldplay's Chris Martin showed up, played some tunes off Rush of Blood to the Head and then teamed up with the Echo And The Bunnymen frontman Ian Mcculloch for a cover of Lou Reed's Walk On The Wild Side.
In addition to live performances from Evan Dando, Faithless, Beth Orton, Paul Weller and Fran Healy, video messages from the likes of Yoko Ono, System of a Down and Elton John were also shown.
