As the Daily Mail reported on September 10, 2001, Elton received a standing ovation for the 90-minute performance. He said: "This is a very special moment for me. Over the years I've played to 20,000 one day and 2,000 the next.
"But playing to a crowd as small as of 250 takes me back all the way back to where it all began more than 30 years ago. This is about me going back to my roots because I started playing in clubs that held this sort of crowd."
