Elton notches up 52 gigs at Madison Square Garden - shares title with band Grateful Dead

Elton and the band performed the first of two sold out shows at New York City's Madison Square Garden on November 27, 2001 and matched the record set in 1994 by The Grateful Dead for the most number of gigs by an artist or band. The set list was the same as during the last band shows in the US earlier this year.

The shows had to be postponed from October 18/19, 2001, due to events of September 11, 2001. Elton dedicated Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters as well as Your Song to the people of New York City.
