A Sunbury, Australia, world-class pianist will perform in a two-man concert in Melbourne next month to prove "the piano is as expressive as the voice".
Polish-parented music teacher and classical pianist Adam Przewlocki will team up with jazz man Craig Schneider in Burning the Keys, which will feature classical, ragtime, jazz and rock 'n' roll tunes.
"We are both vocalists and will perform a broad range from Elton John to Billy Joel to Barry Manilow," Przewlocki said.
"We want to show the important role of piano in all forms of music."
The pair have created their own two-piano arrangements of George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue and romantic concertos by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Grieg, Chopin and Liszt.
Burning the Keys will be held twice on Saturday November 15, 2003, at 2pm and 8.30pm, at the George Fairfax Studio at the Victorian Arts Centre, Melbourne.
