Elton John, bruised in several recent court battles, is again taking on the authorities. This time he is disputing a multi-million pound tax bill going back 14 years, reports contactmusic.com on November 4, 2003.
The claim is described as an "ongoing dispute" by officials at UK commercial registration service Companies House, where Elton's publisher William A. Bong is registered and has lodged the query.

A friend of Elton explained: "He can easily afford the amount in question. But he strongly believes the Revenue has got it wrong and he doesn't owe anything."
