Elton is to appear at a special Asian tsunami Live Aid-style concert at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on January 15, 2005, according to reports in London's Metro newspaper January 12, 2005.

Elton will be performing to as many as 65,000 concert-goers in the new football stadium, where tickets sold out in three days. The event hopes to raise up to £1 million for relief aid.

Manic Street Preachers and Snow Patrol are others expected to perform.

Last week, eltonjohnworld reported that Elton would lend his vocals to a re-make of Eric Clapton's Tears in Heaven.

More than 160,000 people lost their lives on December 26, 2004, when an earthquake near Indonesia set off monster tidal waves which affected parts of Asia and the Indian Ocean.
