Drew DeGennaro is a Texas-based photographer and videographer who says, 'I see nothing more beautiful than capturing a moment for myself or another that we can carry forever. When that moment is over, and never comes back, we will always have those images to look on again.''
One of Drew's most memorable assignments took place on October 17. As photo editor of an Austin entertainment blog, he told EJW, he covers most events, particularly when high-profile artists are involved. So Drew wasn't surprised when the Andy Roddick Foundation hired him to provide coverage during their latest fund-raiser, headlined by Sir Elton. His shots can be seen by clicking on ''photos'' at http://do512.com.
At least one million dollars was raised, which will go toward a sports and learning center in East Austin, where Roddick hopes youths will be mentored in character and discipline.
There's a video from the event, which includes a bit of Elton singing Don't Let The Sun Down Go On Me (other numbers included Levon, Tiny Dancer, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Daniel, Philadelphia Freedom, Home Again, and Circle of Life).
