Stars Appear in Video to Support Cornell's Mission

Written by Chief Editor.

On the 20th of June, Chris Cornell’s final music video, The Promise, was released to raise awareness for displaced refugees around the globe. Now a bevy of A-listers have committed to uphold the performer's legacy on the issue.

In a new video, stars vow to uphold Cornell’s desire to fight for human rights and ask that viewers do the same. They include Elton; Cher; George Clooney; Ryan Gosling; Tom Hanks; Christian Bale; Josh Brolin; Jennifer Lopez, and Pharrell Williams.

It ends with a message from Chris himself who declares, “I vow to keep the promise to fight for the world’s most vulnerable children.”

The late lead singer for Soundgarden and Audioslave recorded The Promise for the film of the same name, which was set during the time of the Armenian genocide. Proceeds from the song were to be donated to the International Rescue Committee.  The video for The Promise was released, as Cornell had requested, on Tuesday, World Refugee Day.
