Arena Seating's Role in Elton's UK Tour

Written by Chief Editor.

Arena Seating, experts in installing temporary concert seating (and a past subject of this Web site's 'Cheryl's Specials') has provided temporary event seating for UK dates on Sir Elton’s ‘Wonderful Crazy Night’ tour.

Contracted by concert promoter Marshall Arts, event specialists Arena Seating supplied circa 70,000 folding audience seats across seven dates, including the 7,135 installed at Peterborough United’s ABAX Stadium on Sunday, June 11th.

A 20-strong crew installed the seats, which were in numbered rows and freestanding, in two days and removed them in six hours as the tour moved on. The seats were clipped together and floorbarred in line with current safety guidelines.

The extra seating helped ensure a capacity crowd of more than 13,000 could fit into the ABAX Stadium for the pop icon's first-ever appearance in the town.

It was the fourth show of seven which Arena Seating, part of the Arena Group, worked on in June including dates at Ipswich Town FC’s Portman Road, Blackburn Rovers’ Ewood Park and the Select Security Stadium in Widnes.

Dave Withey, Arena Group Sales and Marketing Director UK & Europe, said: “We always enjoy working on Sir Elton John’s tours, something we have done many times before, and Marshall Arts, in particular Mike Stewart, are a delight to work with.”
