This desk clock is encased in a presentation box with a plaque inscribed, "TO RUSS AND JUDY WITH LOVE ELTON OCTOBER 1973." The gold record is RIAA certified, making it a collector’s item on its own. It is framed and matted to the period of the 1970s, similar to other RIAA gold records of this time. An inscription on the frame of the records reads: "PRESENTED TO RUSS REGAN TO COMMEMORATE THE SALE OF MORE THAN ONE MILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF THE UNI RECORDS LONG-PLAYING RECORD ALBUM "ELTON JOHN."
The pieces from the sale will be on view concurrently with the auction house's Patek Philippe Private Selling Exhibition at their Rockefeller Plaza galleries in New York City, until the 23rd of the month. They can be seen from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m., but only from 1-5 p.m. on July 23. Online bids will be accepted for eight more days.
