The North American tour of Disney's The Lion King celebrated the milestone of reaching an audience of over 20 million people at the conclusion of its engagement in El Paso, Texas, on June 10.
Now in its 17th touring year, The Lion King North American touring productions have played over 8,431 performances during 185 engagements in 80 cities. If the North American tours were a Broadway production, they would be the fourth longest running show in history.
The tour is currently playing at the Music Hall at Fair Park in Dallas through July 7. Already in 2018, the musical, featuring songs by Elton and Tim Rice, has sold out in Atlanta, Jacksonville, Kalamazoo, Little Rock, Kansas City and El Paso.
Upcoming engagements include E. Lansing, Hartford, Charlotte, Indianapolis, Peoria, Boise and Las Vegas.
