...Elton says: "Sometimes you wake up tired, and that happens to anybody in in any profession. But I love what I do. I am soon 56 years and figure I have a few years left at this rate."

...Elton says: "I have my criticism of the government. Gordon Brown [finance minister] wrote me a letter, answered me back. He just said that it was unfair what we said, blah, blah, blah. And we then wrote back another letter saying no it's not unfair, here are the facts."

...On singles sales proceeds to EJAF: "No, that stopped years ago. It was bureaucratically a nightmare. The territories where you sell singles in, we had to stop that. We were leaving ourselves open to so many investigations."

..."God knows what I'm going to look like without the glasses because I now look in the mirror and I can't see!"...

...Charlie Morgan on working in the UK again: "If the work's here yes. I have been in constant contact with my friends here. But there doesn't seem to be much demand for drummers here. Mostly seems to be dance music. In the last year, I did three tracks for the film Moulin Rouge. It took a year to come out. I did the tracks this time last year in the UK."...

Gus Dudgeon: I would always look to make cuts. They were all terrible cassette tape copies and just rubbish. I just took a razor blade and chopped them all up. We were delighted, because they had more shelf space as a result!
